For me, one of the best things about working on the farm is enjoying the nature we work in.
Today, I worked with Shiromoto-chan and Kogura-san at the kaki grove on the hill above Kogura-san’s family house.
The farm
This farm brings back a lot of good memories from when I first started to work with Kogura-san. This is one of the first places that I picked kaki, and it is where we spent many of the hot spring days. But more than the work, the things I remember about this farm are always its dark, beautiful places.
Here are a few of the spots around the farm that I like best.
I cleared away some weeds here at the bottom of the farm overlooking the valley bellow.
This edge of the farm drops off into a deep ravine full of bamboo.
At the end of the farm, there’s a path down the hill that goes all the way back to Kogura-san’s family home!
It really is a privilege to be able to take in such beautiful places.
